Beautiful Vang Vieng, Laos.

DAY 1

Crossing through rice fields, on our way to Pha Daeng caves.

Kind of scary pool at the end of the narrow cave. This was well deep inside the cave. We were led by a young girl about 100m through slippery clay crevices to the water. I was a little freaked out swimming in a pool were you couldn't see the bottom or what was in the water...but i guess that's what made it an adventure. We were laughing, screaming and slipping our way through.

On our way back this beautiful rainbow made the view even more stunning then before.

Really stunning surrounds.

DAY 2

Got my walking shoes and motivation to walk up a hill to see Vang Vieng and its beautiful landscape from the top.

Walking through the country, passing farm shacks.

Village we crossed to get to Pha Ngeum, the hill we would conquer.

And we ascend..through vines, root steps and steep rocky paths.

Getting there slowly...i felt well unfit at this point.

The sun is shinning, my heart is pounding...the stunning view is totally worth it!

My shirt is drenched...but look its gorgeous overhead.

I conquered the hill!!!

And the view...

I'm speechless.

Almost a 360 degree View.

And back down I go...

Back at the bottom...passing villages...puppies everywhere.

Cotton cloth making machine.

Beautifully handmade cotton fabrics.

And the adventure goes on..through fields of rice.

Rice field irrigation system...really interesting simple design.

That's the hill we just conquered. Now to the Poukham Cave.

Hollow rocky love...A Buddha rests in one of the most spectacular caves.

It was huge...spent about half an our just climbing through....I was getting peckish, I think it's time for lunch.

We stopped at a organic restaurant. Most of the produce came from the surrounding gardens. This Laos steamed veggie dish with tomato sauce was delicious.

Fed...it was time to head back.

Back through the farmland.

DAY 3

Relaxed, leisurely cruise through the surrounding country side of Vang Vieng.

Beautiful open roads.

Surrounded by gorgeous hills and passing through local villages.

Then stopped in to a Organic Farm for lunch and a nosy.

Passiflora also known as 'passionflower' symbol of the passion of Jesus.

In the Goat house. Overcame my fear of Goats!!! As was once rammed..but these guys were really friendly.

They use their droppings as natural fertiliser mixed into compost.

Papayas growing everywhere.

Mainly a Mulberry farm.

Pomelo, a type of grapefruit.

Surrounded by Hibiscus trees used to make tea.

You can also stay here in these Mud Houses.
