The Japanese also played a role in Laos. They occupied the country for a short period of time in 1945 during WWII. They were mainly based in Vientiane. The first place I'm going to spend some time exploring is definitely this capital city. Japanese influences will be the strongest here. Experiencing it first hand, I can't wait to enjoy a Bento Box and some warm Sake.
